Anna-Marie (born 1969, Whitianga) is a self-taught artist who has been painting professionally since 2006.  She features in Denis Robinson's book New Zealand's Favourite Artists vol 2. 

Painting almost exclusively taps, Anna-Marie's artwork explores the anthropomorphic personification of a utilitarian household object.  (Feel free to crack open a bottle of Tui and mutter "Yeah right" under your breath.) 

She has a degree in Horticulture and worked as a post harvest physiologist for six years, then as a phlebotomist.  Following a propensity for professions that start with P she then began painting. 

Anna-Marie lives on 60 acres in the Wairarapa, close to the Tararua Ranges with her son Allen (born 2003) and husband Malcolm Batchelor.  When she is not vacuuming play dough out of the carpet or painting, she is planting native trees.
