I was born in Te Kuiti in the central North Island then attended school in Waihi on the Coromandel Coast. When I left school I moved to Auckland to study Graphic Design at Auckland Technical Institute. After gaining my Diploma in Graphic Design, I began working in Advertising Agencies as Studio Manager and Art Director. Visual art of in all of its forms is my passion so I have always attended life drawing classes and studied Watercolour painting under Agnes Wood, at the Whitecliff Art School in Parnell in Auckland in 1982

  Landscapes are the main focus of my work at the moment and I paint using only oils. I like to get out in the landscape, early in the morning or evening, taking photos for reference to work from later in my studio. I still enjoy etching and attend life-drawing classes when I can.  

My work is held in private and commercial collections in New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom and I undertake private commissions
