"My paintings are all about light and mood. What I feel is as important as what I see and my paintings are more than a recreation of a particular view. I try to imbue them with the emotions I feel outdoors" Blair Greig Blair Greig was born in Dunedin where his love of art developed at an early age. He was educated at Timaru Boy's High School. He left school after gaining Bursary Art and spent a year studying at Aoraki Polytechnic where he received a Certificate in Arts Fundamentals.

To continue his study he spent time employed with an Art Gallery with a large collection of Old Master and European works. From there he gained knowledge through his intense study of Past Masters and long hours painting subjects that inspired him. He was a finalist in the Telecom Art Awards in 1992 and 1993 and in 1996 made the decision to become a full time artist. Blair has exhibited in London and the USA and is considered to be one of the "rising stars" in today's world of art. Demand for his work is extremely high and this is borne out by sold out exhibitions since 2001.
