Galina KimShow current work by this artist | Show sold work by this artist Born in Alma-Ata, Kazakhstan. Galina moved with her family to Kiev, the capital city of Ukraine. She studied Design at the Art and Design school from 1980 to 1983 and graduated with honours. She continued her art studies at the Art Academy in L’vov, West Ukraine from 1985 to 1990. Galina has exhibited in Ukraine, Russia, Poland, Canada, Germany and the Czech Republic, exhibiting throughout New Zealand since her arrival in 1996. Her diversity is illustrated in becoming the finalist in the Telecom Art Awards, having illustrated Brian Priestley’s new book and commissions of architectural decorative art. Galina creates unique acrylic and textured mixed media works with much mood and expression. She enjoys exploring and combining different materials and subjects including architectural features, historical images, romantic and contemporary impressions. She holds regular exhibitions around New Zealand and is represented in many private collections, both here and overseas.
