Living and educated in Canterbury, Sheena Lassen has been painting and exhibiting work since 1981. During this time she has held over seven solo exhibitions and contributed to more than seventeen group shows New Zealand wide. Her work has won numerous awards, including 3 times the “People’s Choice Award” awarded by the Malvern Community Arts Council. She has also produced many works on a commission basis. She has a passion for the rugged high country of the New Zealand South Island and her paintings capture the spirit and power of this beautiful mountainous country. Although she best known for these contemporary realist landscapes in oil, Sheena is versatile and enjoys working with other mediums and varying her style to suit the subject.
