Having an architect father and a mother who painted, we were always encouraged to paint and draw. I attended Craighead Diocesan School in Timaru and was fortunate to have Gypsy Poulson as an art teacher. Gypsy is a well-known watercolour painter and she taught us the way with watercolours which I will always remember. After a short period at Canterbury School of Fine Arts, I worked at Crown Crystal Glass as a design artist. Now after many years of farming and raising a family, I now have time to enjoy the wonderful world of watercolours.
