Gicléés & Prints
Giclee (pronounced zhee-clay) is a French word recognized in the fine art world as describing the advanced printmaking process for high-end reproductions of Fine Art.
Images are generated from high resolution digital scans capable of producing millions of colours using continuous-tone technology onto various substrates including canvas, fine art and photobase paper. The giclee printing process provides better colour accuracy than any other means of reproduction. It is considered one of the most creative mediums available to todays working artists and has gained acceptance from the Louvre in Paris which utilizes the Giclee technique to display reproductions of historic works. The special pigment that is used to create Giclees meets archival standards acceptable to Art Galleries, Museums and discerning private collectors alike. It is often difficult to distinguish Giclees from the originals. The Giclee process has a limited edition run plus a small number of artists' proofs, thus ensuring their collectibility. These works usually demand a higher price than normal and have particular investment potential. Almost every Giclee work at Bryce Gallery is personally signed (and often embellished) by the artist and is also accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
